The BBC's poll - of 44,000
Radio 2 listeners and music
industry figures, was to try and
find the nation's 100 favourite
singing voices, excluding
classical music.
Sinatra had the longest span of Top 10 hits of new material ever registered.
It covered 53 years that began in 1940 and ended in 1993.
It was a triumphant victory for Fabulous Frank. He is the winner, both through listeners' and experts' votes.
