As a beauty I'm not a great star, there are others more handsome by far,
But my face I don't mind it, because I'm behind it,
It's the folk in the front that I jar.

I am the originator of this web site (although most of the information has been gleaned from the internet for which I am very grateful,)and there follows a short explanation of the contents and the history behind some of the files.

First of all I am retired and this is my first web site, although I have been using computers since the Amstrad CPC days,(around 1987/88).

The film page has more older and old films than newer, simply because I have an aversion to too much violence and hate bad language, which seems to be the only means modern day actors (and actresses) know how to show emotions.
Some of the actors in what people refer to now as classic films could say more with a look than, with a few exceptions, modern actors can with a page of words. Although quite a few of the films are black and white I don't mind as long as they have a good story line and good dialogue and I never tire of watching them.

As for the music page I make no apologies for what I have included and also for what I have left out. Modern Pop Music to me is like the Rambo films..only the name changes. As the sub title states I can remember when 'popular music was good and good music was popular'.

Bob Hope has made a few recordings of songs but is not what you would call a singer. Still he is here because I have seen him in person and also because I like him.

I have personally seen all of the artists mentioned below live on stage.

All these along with a multitude of big bands over the years.

We (I say we although my wife died in 2002) have also been to the Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and seen the 25th anniversary performance of Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" (which I believe is still running). We also went to many operas, operettas and musicals, all of which are recorded on these pages (or will be in the future).

So all I can say is

"If you don't like these pages or would like to see someone added
let me know,
But if you do like them tell your friends"
