As Time Goes By
Lionel Hardcastle (Geoffrey Palmer) returns to England after many years in
Kenya.
He decides to write a book on his life there, which he calls (guess), "My Life In Kenya".
Needing a secretary to help him, he hires one from an agency run by a widow, Jean Pargeter (Judi Dench).
On meeting her for the first time,he discovers that Jean Pargeter is the woman he was in love with about 34 years ago, until he was posted overseas during the Korean War and they lost touch. After an on and off start, their relationship develops well until, eventually, they are married.
This all sounds so clinical but the results are very funny indeed.
The dialogue is good and the chemistry between the two leads is wonderful.
